In rural Norfolk, a professional singer who is also a retained firefighter, is surrounded by violins and bows. Terry Redhead meets the proprietor of DK Strings, Daniel Bartlette, who is a luthier, someone who makes, repairs and restores stringed instruments.

Throughout his life, Daniel Bartlette has been surrounded by music, more specifically, by the sight and sound of the violin. Now, in Reepham, Daniel’s DK Strings business is becoming more established following his family’s decision to move to the county from Kent.
